Divar is home the Indian Cinema Heritage Foundation, a public charitable trust set up in Goa by Delhi based lawyer couple Asha and Sumant Batra – to document the history and heritage of Indian cinema and its people. The Foundation also produces many literary and other creative activities, including an annual literature festival.

The tiny vibrant office of the Foundation on the island is designed as a place of happiness. If you are looking for reading a book on a solitary bench under a tree while sipping your favourite coffee or a refreshing cooler, or researching under a lamp surrounded by books in a library, the Foundation is the place to be in. Play a guitar sitting in the balcony, enact an impromptu or pre-booked act in the amphitheatre, or just laze around doing something that we are rapidly forgetting – simply doing nothing. Starting September, 2022, the venue can be used for book launches, poetry reading, a get-together for friends or to set up an easel and paint.
